Wedding at Camp Lutherwood

We had a fabulous time out at Camp Lutherwood last Saturday at Katie and Zach's wedding. They are such a genuine couple who care about their friends and family very much. It was equally obvious that their friends and family care about them so it was a wonderful celebration to be a part of.

Katie & Zach and both said that they wanted to spend a good amount of time taking some shots of just the two of them so we spent over an hour before the ceremony doing just that. (We love it when couples take the extra time for this!) These are just a few of the many pictures we took of the two of them:

The ceremony was performed by their long-time pastor who was obviously a friend to them both. He did a great job.

Another unique aspect of their wedding was that they had their siblings stand up with them as the "Man of Honor" and "Best Woman." It was a special touch that was obviously very personal was it was fitting. You'll see Zach's sister standing next to him, as Katie's brother is standing next to her.

Another unique aspect to their wedding was their use of tiki torches. Their mothers lit the torches as they were escorted down the aisle. Then Zach & Katie used the flame from the separate lines of torches to light their "unity candle." It was a nice touch, which you can see in the following sequence of photos.

They recessed down the aisle as their guests blew bubbles. This was a lot of fun and made for interesting photographs. We love it when our couples think outside the proverbial box and try special things such as this. It's creative.

Katie is a rather big Disney fan, as we came to realize. Her cake topper was a Mickey and Minnie globe. The cake was from New Morning Bakery here in Corvallis. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! (Can't stress that enough.) They did a fabulous job. I think this was one of the few weddings that I can remember where there was virtually no cake left at the end of the day! It was so good that people just kept going back for more. We, of course, highly recommend them to our future brides. (Heh heh.)

Dancing followed . . .

. . . and the Disneyfied touch at the end, of course.

Zach and Katie - we thank you for choosing us to be a part of your wedding day.

Blessings!

I was a counselor at Lutherwood in the mid 1990's, and I just stumbled upon your posting. What a beautiful job you did of capturing the beautiful couple AND the special place I remember! I love that these pics are posted online!

We love our engaged couples and the beautiful jewelry and style they bring to photo sessions, like Asscher Cut Engagement Rings, Emerald Cut Engagement Rings, Tension Set Engagement Rings, or even the eye-catching Pear Shaped Engagement Rings.

A stunning choice for a wedding gift would be a wood objet d'art, created by hand from Woodturning Blanks. Display your craftsmanship by using raw maple hardwood pen blanks and bowl blanks to create beautiful vessels. burl wood creates even more options for woodworking projects.
