OWPP Model Shoot

We're part of network of photographers here in Oregon who are primarily focused on weddings, and occasionally we meet together as a group to participate in organized photo shoots with models. These sessions give us a chance to work with each another and see how the other photographers operate. It's tons of fun and educational for everyone involved! Seeing other photographers in action is always inspiring, and a great way to expand our creativity. We love being a part of this group!

A few weeks ago we met up to shoot a practice "bridal" session. These are a few of our favorite images...

Thanks to Elisha & Andy of e[a] photography studios and Sara of Sara Lil Photography for coordinating the shoot and our two models. Special thanks also to Bohemian Bouquets, who provided the lovely flowers which you see pictured here.

Sally & Emily + Mike, Christopher & Matthew = a very special family!

This past weekend we had the pleasure of photographing a very intimate wedding and a representation of two families becoming one. Sally & Mike weren't interested in having a large wedding ceremony, choosing instead to take their kids on a family vacation over spring break. Therefore it was just their family of five, their pastor, and the witnesses. (And us!)

They asked us to photograph their wedding ceremony, which was held at Zion Lutheran, and then to accompany them along to Central Park where we took pictures of their family. Here are some of the results.

Mike's son, Christopher, played the piano as Sally and Emily walked down the aisle.

Then it was off to the (very popular) limo...

All together and very happy! The boys were excited because the ties they picked to go along with the tuxedos were not only Beaver colors, but had been rented and worn by members of the football team themselves just before the wedding!

Thank you Sally & Mike for inviting us to be part of such a unique and special day for you two. We trust the five of you will be very happy!

Kellie's Bridal/"Day After" shoot

What exactly IS a bridal shoot anyway? Well, we've talked about them before. It's a chance for you as the bride to go out and have FUN in your wedding dress! Bridals are usually shot after the wedding so that you don't have to worry about getting your dress dirty and are generally feeling more relaxed about having your picture taken. At that point you KNOW you look good in photos and so you are much more ready to have fun in front of the camera! Plus, this just gives you an opportunity to get some really cool images in different locations.

This past weekend Kellie (and Mark) spent a fun hour and a half with us with us and ended up with some killer shots. For the record, Kellie is just as nice and sweet as she is gorgeous! Kellie and Mark are just really fun people to be around. Taking pictures of them is a pleasure but spending time with them is the greater joy. (Of course, we're quite pleased with the way the pictures came out, too!)

But why should we have all the fun? We handed one of our cameras over to Mark to give him a shot (heh heh) at his favorite subject.

Nicely done, Mark!

Kellie specifically requested some artistic textures, and we love the way they complemented these photos!

Kellie, being as sweet as she is, called me up today and offered to be our "PR" person when it came to convincing others to commit to a bridal shoot. She enjoyed it THAT much and loves her photos! We're certain you will too. If you are a Blue Castle bride - let us know if you are interested in scheduling a bridal. You won't be sorry you did!

Lydia & Aaron's engagement session!

We are really excited to be shooting Lydia & Aaron's wedding in May. We've known Lydia for a couple of years now and couldn't be happier with her choice in a future husband! We enjoyed getting to know Aaron a bit more this weekend while we were out on the OSU campus for their engagement shoot.

We had planned to grab some shots at a few outdoor locations, but rain changed the plans somewhat and we landed on the OSU campus! We took advantage of a quiet day at Kelly Engineering Center, and dodged raindrops outside when the weather permitted.

Hmm, do you prefer the focus of this photo more on her cool heels or their faces? We like it both ways, so...

Taking advantage of some great light and a cool background...

There are plenty of balconies to experiment with at KEC!

And a fun shot before we left the building...

(Aaron proceeded to get his hand stuck in the door trying to get it to keep from closing... oh well!)

Lately we've been experimenting with different textures for a more artistic or weathered look. If you're on our calendar for an upcoming photo shoot and like the style that this offers, be sure to let us know and we'll keep that in mind when we process your images! We love the way these came out...

Lydia, thank you for asking us to be a part of your life in this special way. We feel very honored and are very excited for you and Aaron both as you take this next step together!

Aaron, you are awesome! We look forward to spending more time with you in the future! Thanks for taking such great care of Lydia. Your love is obvious and special.

See you all in May! (And a few times before then too, we're sure.)

We love our engaged couples and the beautiful jewelry and style they bring to photo sessions, like Asscher Cut Engagement Rings, Emerald Cut Engagement Rings, Tension Set Engagement Rings, or even the eye-catching Pear Shaped Engagement Rings.
