Ian's Senior Photos

We met up with Ian a few days ago for a senior photo session. It's never to early (or too late!) to get started on senior photos. In Ian's case, he had already had some done for the yearbook but wanted to have some more creative, special photographs for him and his family to enjoy. We were happy to oblige!

Ian is such a laid back kinda guy. We just had a great time with him, dodging raindrops and exploring the depths of the Memorial Union basement on campus. We hope you had as great a time as we did and thanks for your willingness to hold position while we goofed off with our cameras!

As you can see, Ian is just a wee bit musically talented. He plays trumpet with a school jazz band. I have to say it is easy to be relaxed while taking pictures while someone is strumming their guitar. It's a great way to put everyone at ease.

If you are hoping to have your senior photos done, it's good to plan ahead and get that on your schedule! Take some time out to be creative and get photographs of yourself that you and your family will enjoy! It's not just about the yearbook! It's about who you are. Make the most of your pictures. You'll be glad you did!

Gio+Joneen's Engagement Shoot

Next week we'll be shooting Gio & Joneen's wedding for them and so, of course, we needed to get those engagement photos done! We met them in downtown Albany this past week and wandered around looking for fun backgrounds and backdrops to use.

Gio & Joneen were incredibly outgoing and up for trying anything we suggested. They would even take those suggestions one step further which always makes for a very FUN photo session! We love it when the couple is feeling creative and excited about their own shoot. It really helps to personalize the resulting images.

Not only are they a fun couple to photograph - they are also highly enjoyable to be around. We had a blast hanging out with them. Here are a few of the pictures from their engagement shoot:

(Still playing around with the textured look.)

This picture gives evidence to the fact that Joneen is a real trooper. She was willing to climb down this little embankment and crawl up into this tree -- in high heels! And she still agreed to smile about it. Can't beat that!

Gio took us to one of his favorite college haunts to shoot some pictures of the two of them playing pool. Whether or not it appears as such - he really is a terrific player.

We had such a great time with you, Gio & Joneen! See you in a week!

David Beckstead Workshop

We had a unique opportunity in Corvallis to learn from wedding photographer David Beckstead in a local workshop this week! With the assistance of some gracious models we enjoyed shooting bridal wedding portraits...

Elisha from e[a] Photography Studios volunteered as one of our models giving her a unique opportunity to experience life on the other side of the camera lens!

We were able to shoot out at The Ranch On Beaver Creek in Lebanon, OR. It's a gorgeous location with plenty of opportunities for great pictures. If you are a bride searching for an outdoor venue, you should definitely check this place out!

Stephaine+Josh Engagement Photos

We love going to new places and trying new and unique things in our photo shoots. So when Stephanie and Josh suggested that we take some of their engagement photos at Highland Bowl, where they first met, we were all over that.

They bowled a game while we "watched" (with cameras in hand). I doubt they'll ever bowl a game quite like that again but, hey! It was an experience. The folks at Highland Bowl were very accomodating and allowed us to crawl around barriers and stand on table tops to get some of the pictures we were after which we appreciated. Here are just a couple of photos from Highland Bowl:

Following the bowling game we took them up to Vineyard Mountain where we hiked along the trails and had them climbing off the path to take some photos in the foliage. They were very good sports about the whole thing and were willing to climb over, under and around just about anything that we asked them to!

Stephanie and Josh are so relaxed around each other that they are fun to be around. We enjoyed getting to know them better and are looking forward to their wedding in July!

Raydeen & Sonny - Bridals

You can do a bridal shoot any old time you want! Raydeen and Sonny are proof that there is no time limit or conditions on when and where you can take pictures in your wedding clothes. They contacted us a year after their wedding because they wanted to get some nice, artistic shots in their wedding attire. We were happy to oblige.

We started out at Adair Park among the trees. What we didn't realize about Adair Park was that there is a great following of frisbee golf there! So we grabbed some shots while frisbees were flying overhead. Literally! It was quite entertaining and Raydeen and Sonny were good sports (pardon the pun) about the whole thing.

After wrapping things up at the park (and dodging a few more frisbee golf players!) we hightailed it to the river front. We made it there as the sun was setting which made for some fun lighting! The Willamette River is just gorgeous when the sun is setting!

We really enjoy doing bridals (as we've mentioned previously . . . just a few times) because it gives opportunity to be creative in a more relaxed setting. Typically the wedding day is filled with so many other activities that the couple frequently doesn't get the chance to walk away and relax with each other. Raydeen and Sonny were not a BCP wedding couple and that's ok! We're happy to meet up with anyone who would like to get some special shots in that once-in-a-lifetime dress that meant so much to you! Why only wear it once? Bring it out again and let's have some fun!

We love our engaged couples and the beautiful jewelry and style they bring to photo sessions, like Asscher Cut Engagement Rings, Emerald Cut Engagement Rings, Tension Set Engagement Rings, or even the eye-catching Pear Shaped Engagement Rings.
