SENIOR PHOTOS WITH COLLIN

Collin made the trip down from Yamhill for his senior photos, and we were able to dodge the afternoon raindrops for some great shots! He is involved in basketball, baseball, and football at his high school, and brought some equipment and props for us to work with.

Collin is a 2007 Oregon All-State Baseball selection, and plays year-round, so we got some unique shots to show his involvement with that. (We love the aged look on some of these, applied using a unique Photoshop process that we came up with.)

This last shot was an idea that we enjoyed experimenting with together. No camera equipment was harmed during the photography! (Yes, this is a real photo, not a composite.)

INTRODUCING... ALBUMS!

After spending much of this year doing thorough analyses and interviews of the many custom album providers available, we are now introducing the beautiful, hand-crafted Vision Art Book products as part of our wedding and senior photo packages!

The quality of these albums is unsurpassed, and we have been thrilled with the results of our first (of many) sample. We designed 27 double-page spreads (see the slideshow here) using the photos from Robin and Ryan's wedding earlier this year, and the presentation of these in a hardback, custom-bound album simply cannot be described!

The finished product arrives in a protective box, with wrap-around cover artwork (including custom printing on the front, spine, and back.)

Because of the unique printing and binding style, the pages are assembled in full seamless spreads to lie flat, so it's possible to print panoramic photos over both pages with only a tiny crease in the center.

The printing process showcases black and white photos and sepia-toned images beautifully!

And, of course, we carefully design every page in a unique style, so that the album showcases your photos in a creative progression that's perfect for coffeetable display!

We're thrilled with how these came out, and can't wait to show more samples. These albums are beautifully handcrafted and economical as well, being available in all different sizes and styles (including leather-bound.) We are happy to discuss ideas for album design as part of your photography package!

SHOOTING VITA'S SENIOR PHOTOS

Vita is a Ukranian exchange student who just arrived in the U.S. several weeks ago, and talked with us after discovering that she'll be in her senior this year according to our school system. We met in the early evening to take advantage of the lighting, and had a great time finding interesting backgrounds and environments to shoot against!

Thanks again, Vita, and best wishes in the coming school year!

HANNAH'S SENIOR PHOTO SHOOT

Hannah met up with us yesterday in downtown Corvallis to shoot senior photos for her yearbook and get some creative portraits at the same time. We had a great evening with her and loved how the photos came out!

Cool boots, eh? She brought along several great shoes for different shots. Hannah is also the editor-in-chief of her school newspaper, and we used that as a background for this next shot... (thanks to our friend BJ for inspiration!)

This old marquee downtown has been repurposed as a general display board for many different types of signs...

And finishing up with a few more photos...

Hannah took advantage of our 40%-off senior portrait special, valid until the end of September. We only have a few more spots left, and school deadlines are approaching fast, so let us know if you are interested in working with us for your senior photos!

SENIOR PHOTOS WITH LANDON

Now that wedding season is winding down, we're up and going taking senior photos. We still have some openings available for some additional seniors and would love to hear from you about booking your customized portrait session.

We had a great time outdoors with Landon this weekend shooting senior photos on location! Here are some of the results:

On another note, we just finished updating the portfolios for our main Blue Castle Photography site to include many of our latest photos from 2007. We also added a new slideshow system to show the images in high-resolution, so check 'em out and let us know what you think!

In September, we have several senior photo sessions planned, and we are just wrapping up the design and layouts for our demo albums with our new handcrafted album provider! We are very excited to show these around; photos can look great viewed in slideshows, prints, or individually online, but a uniquely designed coffee-table album really brings out their subtle beauty. Stick around for samples soon...

We love our engaged couples and the beautiful jewelry and style they bring to photo sessions, like Asscher Cut Engagement Rings, Emerald Cut Engagement Rings, Tension Set Engagement Rings, or even the eye-catching Pear Shaped Engagement Rings.
